Project without deadline

Things are not at all going well between my project manager and one of my team members. The other day my project manager sent a mail asking us the status of the tasks we are handling. One of the tasks handled by this team member is a proof of concept (PoC) project proving the usability of a tool for our client. This team member who does not want to give a proper reply to this Email replied back “PoC projects will not have a deadline”, teaching us a breakthrough concept in project management.

I overheard this from one of my home-maker-turned-software-engineer-overnight colleague, the other day. She was giving gyan to her friend on how to do it successfully. She informed the list of technologies she can put an experience very easily (the ones that are not code heavy) and top it off with buying a certification. Once this done, you are ready to go. If the hubby is in a vital role in the company or in a project, the next thing to do is to blackmail your consultancy or company that you would be leaving unless she is given a job (direct way) or she got job in other city and there is no other way than to leave the job (indirect way). That is all. A time will come you can see resumes with offers like “Hire a developer get the tester at 50% discount.” Oops! I mistakenly spelled out the top profession to fake. May be you already knew.
