Blockbuster Debut

At the time Chiranjeevi officially declared his entry into politics, I was in a dinner hosted by my manager on the occasion of his birthday. I was very eager to know how his entry into politics is going to be. Once the party is over and I was home, there are already innumerable videos of his press meet uploaded on the internet. In my personal opinion if there is any word that can describe the way he declared his entry into politics, it is “superb”. He spoke with perfect poise, the expressions on his face matching with the words he spoke, making it known to everyone that the words are coming straight from the heart. He spoke in authentic, error free Telugu with almost no English words coming in the middle. He spontaneously came up with phrases like “Nenu leftist nu kanu rightist nu kanu humanist nu” (I am neither leftist nor rightist but humanist), “kondari vadini kanu andarivadini” (I belong to everyone), “Naa kosame bathikedi bathuku andari kosam bathikedi jeevitham” (Life is when you live for others) to answer some of the questions, shows the command he has on the language. The extremely long period of eight months he took to officially declare his entry into politics raised doubts among many about his decision taking capabilities. Rumours spread that he is too shy to face the media and the political opponents. The press meet yesterday cleared off any such suspicions. The one hour time he spent with the media brought to the fore, the thinking process he went through all this time. Every word he spoke is backed by logical thinking. He gave examples of the time of his debut when one of the reporters questioned him whether there is a place for a third alternative to come when there are already two strong parties in the state. He quoted the demonstrations, meetings held by various organisations requesting his entry into politics. He remembered two of his fans, a police constable and a software engineer who in their suicide note worried about their inability to vote for the megastar. By quoting the former super star of Telugu Cinema NTR, he won the hearts of everyone who might not have liked him in other case. As everyone already knows he declared Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Kalam, Phule, and Mother Teresa as the inspiration behind his political foray. The best of the replies I liked the most is about him being sensitive. He fired that this sensitive nature is what makes him respond to the problems faced by the people, in contrary to the current politicians. He restricted himself from commenting on the other parties. A majority of women are going to take positions in his party, he declared.

What is the agenda of his party, the name, who is joining it, the chances of success? Forget it. Chiranjeevi won the hearts of majority of people at the debut itself. We have to wait and see how he is going to lead his party breaking the rules of politics as he mentioned yesterday.
